Camden County Recovers Rental Assistance Grant
As many residents of Camden County continue to struggle with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic the Camden County Board of Commissioners is working to address the needs of those most affected by the virus. The Camden County Recovers Program is available to Camden County renters who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligibility and Rules
An “eligible household” is defined as a rental household in Camden County in which at least one or more individuals meets the following criteria:
- Qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19;
- Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and,
- Has a household income at or below 80% of the area median.
Available Assistance
Eligible households may receive up to 18 months of assistance that can include 3 future months if (a) the grantee determines the extra months are needed to ensure housing stability and (b) grantee funds are available. Priority is given to assistance with existing housing-related arrears that could result in eviction before providing assistance with future rent payments. Future rent assistance will be provided for up to three months at a time and eligible households may re-apply for additional assistance at the end of the three-month period. Utilities are eligible.
